SUPPORTING RELIEF FOR AFGHAN REFUGEE WOMEN & CHILD

RELIEF International, a California based international disaster relief agency, is responding to the Afghan refugee crisis by dispatching relief teams to the region. The RELIEF teams including experienced health professionals carry with them essential emergency medical supplies to the border regions of Pakistan and Tajikistan where Afghan refugees are concentrated. The relief operation begins with mobile clinics and will expand to cover other needs based on assessments. <bR>There are currently over 5 million Afghans living in conditions of extreme vulnerability, facing certain starvation and death in the absence aid. One in 4 Afghan children dies before reaching the age of 5. These are preventable deaths. We need to take immediate action to prevent the situation from turning even more dire and to reverse the tide of misery and hopeless. RELIEF International is committed to long-term solutions to alleviate the plight of the Afghan people.
