AIAP Torrey Pines Hike<br>AIAP first hike in the new year will be at the wonderful Torrey Pines State Reserve. Once again we are going to take a walk at this beautiful wilderness island located in an urban sea. Torrey Pines State Reserve is the home of the nation rarest pine tree Pinus torreyana. This time we may try a new trail! We will see A visit to the picturesque, pueblo-style visitor center at the beginning of the hike is an option, too. This is one hike you will find very refreshing no matter how many times you have done. Medium 3-mile hike. Elevation change 500-1000 ft. Jacket and shoes with traction are recommended. Most likely will depart around noon. <br>Place: Torrey Pines State Reserve Parking (next to the Ranger booths at the entrance)<br><br>Direction: See below. <br><br>DIRECTIONS<br>From Interstate I-5: <br><br>Exit on Carmel Valley Road and drive west for about 1.5 miles till you reach the Coast Highway 101. Turn LEFT onto Camino del Mar and proceed along the beach for about 1 mile. This road is also called North Torrey Pines Road. Park entrance is on your right just before highway begins to climb Torrey Pines grade. Look for parking before the entrance.
