Shaparak Khanoom in San Diego

Persian Cultural Center of San Diego and Foundation for Persian Cultural Arts present:<br>shaparak Khanoom in Farsi<br>Shaparak Khanoom by Bijan Mofid(in Farsi)<br><br>It is with great pleasure that I announce the formation of a new theater group called, Javane. <br><br>This very energetic young group is made up of 2nd generation Iranians who all have been born and raised here in America but they are also very Iranian. These are our own kids who barely speak Farsi at home but they are bright young kids who are going to shape our culture in future. <br><br>Having done plays with kids in Nima Farsi class for last 10 years under the direction of Mrs. And Mr. Gorjani, I have realized that our kids are extremely talented and ready to do theater on stage in Farsi, bilingual and in English. I have worked with some of these very talented young kids for many years and now for our first professional project we are going to perform in Farsi, an adaptation of Shaparak Khanoon by Bijan Mofid, a lovely, warm, funny Iranian play with universal and humanistic appeal. <br><br>Many of my friends who are great artits themselves have helped us make this project come together. Kourosh Taghavi and Fares Hedayati will play live on stage bringing beautiful music to the play. Ali Dadgar and Shahrzad Khorsandi have helped me in the design of the poster, stage, movements and much more in this musical, magical play. <br><br>Our play not only is appropriate for young audience 2-20, but it has definitely a great appeal to parents, families, friends and general public.
