Movie: So Close, So Far

In continuation of screening milestones in Iranian cinema, Iranian STudent Association (ISTA) presents another movie night to UCSD students as well as its esteemed public audience. \"So Close, So Far (Kheili Dour, Kheili Nazdik)\" by director Seyyed Reza Mir-Karimi, will be screened for FREE on February 2nd at 6pm in UCSD Center Hall. This award-winning film is about an arrogant neurologist who must examine the meaning of his life when his son is diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor. His trek through the desert to catch up with his son’s astronomy field trip leads him to encounter a number of seemingly ordinary people who challenge his views and values. This film was Iran\'s submission for the Academy Award of Best Foreign Language Film on 2005.<br />
