Personalized chemotherapy is fast becoming the new paradigm in cancer therapeutics because tumors, even within the same type of cancer, have different molecular characteristics. The greatest challenge yet, is identifying a prognostic test that provides information about the drug’s efficacy on each patient. Such a test should be highly reliable, fast, and inexpensive. AccuDava Inc., a biomedical company founded in 2006, is dedicated to developing companion diagnostic tests to determine the effectiveness of first-line chemotherapy with platinum dugs. We have developed two unprecedented molecular tests that help physicians to predict the efficacy of chemotherapy in ovarian cancer patients before administrating the drug. This is a unique approach based on our discovery of two proprietary glycan biomarkers whose presence on the cell surface is associated with drug response. The direct detection of these glycan biomarkers makes our method superior to the currently available indirect tests that are based on genomic biomarkers for drug response.<br />

This presentation will introduce scientific support for our cutting-edge technology, and will also outline the business challenges involved in implementing this novel concept. The current status and the future milestones for PMA submission and clinical trials will also be discussed.<br />
