Zang Records in Collaboration with ISTA at UCSD proudly presents Hamed Nikpay Live in San Diego. We are proud to announce that Hamed Nikpay and his band will be performing live in San Diego on February 23rd at the museum of contemporary arts in La Jolla.<br />
<br />
At the forefront of experimental music, Nikpay has a passion for his innovative genre that is embedded in his solid knowledge of the fundamentals of Persian music, his ability to perform numerous Eastern instruments and his incisive interpretation and selection of Persian poetry for his songs. These artistic abilities have enabled him to create music that is gripping and much admired by enthusiasts of world music. Having learned how to sing at a very young age, he also studied with some of the masters of classical Persian music. His love of Persian music motivated him to learn and play many musical instruments revered in the culture—tar, setar, tanbour, oud, and daf, all of which he plays expertly and soulfully. Nikpay has also performed as a fusion vocalist and has produced four albums: Solo Passage, All Is Calm, Spellbound and most recently, Reaching You.<br />

Parking: Please allow ample amount of time to park your car. There will be plenty of off-street parking available near the museum. The sitting will on a first come - first served basis in each section, therefore it would be crucial to be on time for the best sitting.<br />

- General Admission: $30<br />
- Discounted UCSD Students: $15 (Valid UCSD student ID card required at the door)<br />
