A Talk by Author Zohreh Ghahremani

Iranian STudent Association at UCSD invites local Iranian-American author Zohreh Ghahremani for an afternoon of lively discussion. Zoe’s first English novel, Sky of Red Poppies, was a KPBS selection for the 2012 One Book, One San Diego. In this novel, Ghahremani tells the universal story of friendship with a focus on the drastic changes of Iran over the recent years.<br />
Ghahremani’s new novel, The Moon Daughter, is a mother/daughter story that touches on Middle Eastern women’s rights and some cross cultural dilemmas.<br />
She believes that while the US is known for being a melting pot, no one really melts, that the beauty of this unique society stems from its citizens’ diverse backgrounds.<br />
The presentation will be followed by Q&A and book signing.<br />
