In this interactive workshop, the fundamentals of Persian classical music specifically singing Persian classical songs known as Tasnif will be presented and accompanied by live music. The audience will be introduced to the concepts of Persian classical music and will learn the modes (Dastgah) by singing Tasnifs throughout the lecture. <br />
<br />
All attendees will receive a hand out including a CD of the songs they are going to learn and sing. In a few intervals, following presenter’s explanation all attendees will sing along accompanied by live music and through that will learn about the mode, Dastgâh, in which the song is composed in. The program is targeted for all music lovers with different levels of understanding of the Persian classical music as a mean to better learn and enjoy the art music of Iran. The idea of this interactive lecture is to create a fun and intimate atmosphere for everyone to learn more about our classical music and enjoy it more.<br />
