Master musician Hossein Omoumi will present a lecture and concert at the NeurosciencesInstitute (10640 John Jay Hopkins Drive).<br><br>Lecture (5 pm)<br>Mr. Omoumi’s lecture will be presented in English and cover the following topics:<br>· Description of the Systems of Persian Classical Music<br>· The Role and Importance of Poetry in Persian Classical Music<br>· Common traits between Persian Music & Architecture – with architectural examples from <br>Isfahan of the Saffavi period (17th century) <br><br>Read a review from Mr. Omoumi’s 2001 concert in California at <br>http://www.geocities.com/darvaksd/Omoumi_June2001_review.html <BR><BR>
<a href =http://www.lianrecords.com/pgs/houmanp.html target=_blank>Hooman Pourmehdi</a> will be accompanying Dr. Omoumi on tombak and daf. Mr. Pourmehdi performed with Ostad Lotfi on his last California concert.
